300 WHISPER
The photo shows a 300 Whisper loaded with a Berger 125, with a Sierra 240 Match King next to it for comparison.
The following data was developed in a Sako model S491 rifle with a heavy stainless steel barrel from Hart. The barrel has an 8 inch twist and was finished at 22 inches. A McMillan synthetic stock replaced the wooden factory issue. We used the Brownell’s Steel Bed to bed the action and free float the barrel. A Leupold 8.5 – 25 X scope was installed in Leupold mounts. All bullets were molly coated, all groups were 5 shots at 100 yards.
We used Remington 221 Fireball brass and the Federal 205M primers.
