20 VARTAG TURBO

This cartridge, together with its smaller sister, the 20 Vartag, was developed by my very good friend Todd Kindler. Todd is the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to those small calibers. And being one of the most down to earth, kindest person you are ever likely to meet, despite having Dwight as his Big Game Consultant, we all enjoyed having him on safari.

The following data was developed in a custom rifle built on a Sako S 491 action with a 25” varmint weight barrel.

We installed the rifle in a McMillan Marksman stock, painted green, and to match it, we painted the flutes green too. The result was a very pleasant looking rifle. A Leupold 6.5-20 scope was installed in Leupold mounts.

Berger 36 grain HP, molly coated bullets were used, in Norma 222 brass and the Federal 205 primers. All groups are 5 shots at 100 yards.
